Welcome

We are pleased to introduce this website.  Choosing a suitable primary school for your child is potentially one   of the most important decisions you   will make on their behalf. We hope this will help you to make that choice and give you a feel for the atmosphere and  ethos at St. John's.

St. John's has a reputation for being a very caring, yet high attaining school.  We aim to enable all children in our        care to fulfil their potential in all areas.

We are fortunate to be situated on an attractive spacious, modern site and   to have well-equipped facilities and a highly committed staff.  We work in close partnership with parents and provide a friendly, secure environment  in which 'Fun learning the Christian Way' takes place.

Worship

There is a daily act of worship for the pupils and staff.  Once a week this may be a Base or class Service.  Friday Celebration Service is when pupils share their achievements (including achievements outside school) and are awarded 'leaves'.

Parents are invited to an annual class service and an annual Base Service which is held at St. John's Church.

Our Vision

Through a Christian approach we value everyone as a unique individual created in the image of God, and work together within a structured and inviting learning environment, building on existing good partnerships, to enable everyone to recognise and achieve high standards, raise social and cultural awareness and enrich their moral and spiritual development.’

A Message from

the Head teacher Ruth Newton

I am privileged to have been Head teacher at   St. John’s since April 2004.  It is a wonderful school that clearly demonstrates the mission statement, written by our pupils 'Fun Learning  the Christian Way'.

Having worked predominately in church schools over the past 30 years I value highly the close links we have with local churches, the  community and the Diocese of Bath and Wells.

The School Leadership Team work closely with staff and governors to ensure that the best possible education is provided for all pupils.
