Notice:

29.11.16

Dear Parents and Staff
You may have heard the Fire Alarm go off at the end of school today. Two Fire engines were quickly on the site. There was no actual fire, however the alarm sounded due to a fault in the boiler room. A part the heating pipework which carries gas is being replaced. This was unforeseen and therefore the school will be closed tomorrow Wednesday 20th November 2016 (including Breakfast Club and After School Care Club) for the work to be carried out and the heating tested.

A further email will follow tomorrow with an update, we hope to have the school running normally as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience, but the safety of all the pupils is a priority.

Kind regards

School Closure Update 1
Our heating engineers have confirmed that the heating repairs will not be completed today. Therefore the school will be closed tomorrow (Thursday 1st December 2016) as well to all pupils and all staff.

We believe the school will open on Friday 2nd December 2016 as normal, but will keep you updated via groupcall text message and email.

A Message from the Head teacher

I am delighted to welcome you to the St John the Evangelist Church School website. Since becoming Head teacher of the school in November 2012, I have worked with the children, staff, parents and governors to ensure that the traditional values on which the school is founded, support us in developing further so that St John’s offers children the very best foundation for learning.

On 1st July 2016 we were delighted to become part of the family of schools that belong to the Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust. Working together with other Trust schools, we are committed to being the best we can.  Motivating and empowering children to become independent learners, good and caring citizens, is at the heart of our mission. All staff have the highest aspirations for children in their care, they are committed to finding and developing children’s gifts and strengths. Parents are the first educators of their children and are welcomed to work closely with staff to support learning.

The strong Christian ethos that is apparent throughout the school, underpins all aspects of school life, in that children are cherished and nurtured within a thriving community. If you would like to see the school in action, please contact the office and make an appointment to visit.
